- the World Health Organisation, in-consultation with expert groups, encourages a minimum activity level per week (150-300mins moderate intensity, or 75-150min vigorous physical activity)
- global accomplishment of this minimum recommended activity level is currently poor (less than 20%)
- exercise has many health benefits across all of our body systems
- they type of exercise we choose influences the type of benefits that we recieve
- these minimum exercise guidelines are vital for children, not just for adults
